When a hotel takes design -very- seriously it automatically makes it to Mood Board Magazine’s must-stay list. Designed by Alfredo Häberli, a Swiss Argentinian product designer, the 25 Hours Hotel in Zurich embraces a quirkiness that makes your stay a fun-filled one. Here are 25 reasons why we loved our stay.

Spoiler alert: This is a hotel full of surprises, some of which will be revealed in this article, but don’t worry, the fun is in the experience.

1. Funky Interior Design

The 25 Hours Hotel in Zurich West is a refreshing alternative to chain hotels. Quotes, illustrations, models and maps fill up the space. Designer Alfredo Häberli mirrors the city within the walls of the hotel with a 3D city map, reflecting what Zurich West has transformed into, from an industrial quarter to a trendy district. Factories have moved away, leaving their expanses spaces to creative minds. Now, art, design, food, culture shopping and architecture are the center of attention, full of contrasts and boasting an unpolished charm.

2. Great value for money

The price varies between £103 – £185, based on average rates for a standard room, which is extremely competitive for a 4-star hotel located in Zurich.  (For current rates visit 25 Hours Hotels).

3. Free Wheels

25 Hours Hotels partnered up with Mini Cooper and offers guests free rentals during their stay. While guests who bring their own Mini can get a 15 per cent discount on the best available price of that day. If you are more into two-wheel vehicles, bikes are also available to ride for free!

4. Location

Although the location may appear a bit off on the map, the hotel is close to some of the trendiest places in Zurich. The hotel is easy to find, highly visible from the street. The tram is easy to use and will take you to the city in no time (Zurich HB station).

All allusions «have to do with an elegant form of humor», says Alfredo Häberli and means his guests, «who with their large eyes, marvel at things like kids.»

8. 5-star cleanliness

The cleanliness is striking, impeccable and we love that.

9. Eco and Pet Friendly, All Natural

The bathroom offer all natural shower gel and shampoo. While some details might appear missing (cotton, cotton swabs, shower caps), they are always available if needed. As most of us don’t use it all, see this move as a no waste and environment commitment from the hotel, so just ask for what you need. If you have a furry friend, 25 Hours Hotel welcomes pets, for a small fee.
